There’s nothing quite as precious as the tiny hands and feet of a newborn, and I know how to capture that beauty in a unique and memorable way. Using high-quality materials and techniques, i create 3D hand and foot castings that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Introducing the newest addition to the photography scene in Belfast, Northern Ireland – I am an experienced and creative newborn and baby photographer who now also specialises in creating stunning 3D hand and foot castings of babies up to the age of 12 weeks old.
I pride myself in having a keen eye for detail and a gentle touch when working with delicate newborns. I understand that safety and comfort are top priorities when it comes to handling newborns, which is why I take extra care to ensure a secure and comfortable experience for both baby and parents. The turnaround is 1 months and i will require you to collect your finished frame from me in my photography studio in Belfast.

We had a newborn session with Jade and after the photoshoot we realised that she also did hand and foot casting. Jade squeezed us in at 4 weeks and I’m so glad she did. We now have his tiny hand and foot to look back at forever and remember how little he was. Such a precious memory captured in such a unique way. The process begins with the creation of a 3D mould using a high-quality impression powder. Safety is paramount in the lifecasting process, especially when it involves infants. Experts in the field use baby-safe, hypoallergenic materials that are gentle on your baby’s skin, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. This seaweed-based material is hypo-allergenic, making it very safe for your baby’s sensitive skin. In just two minutes, the mould sets and is ready to be filled with plaster. The result is a unique life cast that beautifully preserves those precious moments and the intricate details that define your baby’s unique history.

If your child has any kind of skin problem you must seek advice from your GP before having a cast done. It is best to dress your baby in a short-sleeved bodysuit so we have full access to hands and feet.
After your appointment, the moulds are cast in plaster using a high definition stone plaster. Once set, they are tidied and left to dry out thoroughly for at least 2-3 weeks. They are then painted in metallic silver paint. The casts are then framed alongside a silver plaque with babies name and age on ready to proudly display.

Could not recommend jade enough we had a newborn photo shoot and the hand and foot casting. I am so glad we choose the casting as you can really see how small baby is/was. Jade attention to detail is incredible and you won’t be disappointed if you choose to have this done.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Casting can be done up to the age of 12 weeks old. It is not recommended for babies older than 3 3 months to 18 months due to the length of time required to sit still.
For casts of babies hands/feet, the hand/foot is immersed in the mould mixture for only 2 minutes. However, clients are allocated 1 hour for preparation, to chat and to enable little one to fully relax to make it an enjoyable experience for all. The setting time for this is 2-3 hours once you leave the studio.
Its not particularly messy and we use towels to protect clothing, but we advise wearing clothes that are easy to roll up (legs/sleeves) and not designer wear or your best clothes just incase.
We require full payment at the time of booking. Your finished cast will be ready to collect approximately 4 weeks.
Casting have to be allowed to dry for 2 weeks. They are then painted and framed, or mounted on a plinth. This generally takes about 4 weeks
You can expect to receive a sneak peek of edited images within a few days after the session. The full gallery of edited photos will be available for viewing and selection approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the session date.
Absolutely! We offer a range of high-quality prints, albums, canvases, and other products to preserve and showcase your precious memories. We’ll guide you through the ordering process during your viewing appointment.
Yes, digital files are included in our digital packages, allowing you to share and print your photos as you wish. We provide both high-resolution files for printing and web-resolution files for online sharing.
