It’s important to pre-book your Cake Smash session from as early as 6 months old to ensure your space is secured! Weekend availability gets snapped up fast months in advance. So it’s really best to reserve your space as soon as you can.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR CAKE SMASH PHOTOGRAPHY BELFAST SESSION
These Cake Smash Photography Belfast Sessions are a HUGE amount of fun! So much laughter goes on. You choose which cake smash theme you’d like for your session and a miniature cake is included too! I have a variety of eight themes available – Something for everyone. I provide it all. Yes, even baby outfits and props!
You will be invited back to my studio two to three weeks after your session to view your final gallery of approximately 25 beautifully enhanced and professionally edited images. It’s at this point when you may decide which package you may want to purchase. To book a £ 99 session fee is required in order to secure your booking.

When is the best time to schedule a cake smash photoshoot?
Are you planning a first birthday party? Are you wishing for that all important birthday portrait to show off on their special day? When to book your Cake Smash Photography Belfast session is a top question asked and so if you’d like your images in time for their first birthday I recommend to have your cake smash photoshoot date 3-4 weeks prior to their birthday. I also have clients that want their photo shoot to be close to the baby’s birthday, and that’s completely grand!
Not only this, I understand babies.. (adults too) are happiest after a nap or a feed. They tend to be in top form in the morning so typically sessions are scheduled between 10am-12pm for this reason.
As a baby photographer I understand that these cherubs they like to keep on the go! So in these Cake smash photography Belfast sessions, I like to capture a variety of portraits with beautiful family portraits included and a varied Birthday set gallery. Once the date is set, we then get planning and get excited for your Cake Smash session which is held in my photo studio in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I will send you a “Preparation Guide” with more information about the photo session, what to expect, how to prepare, what to bring and what to wear etc..
I have a range of outfits available in the studio wardrobe you’re welcome to choose from for your session you are of course welcome to bring your own for them to wear. My top recommendations would be next or Zara. along with adorable props to showcase little one’s abilities.
If you are worried about any allergies your baby may have, we can either provide an allergy-friendly cake or come up with an alternative.
What do I need to bring to the cake smash photoshoot?
Just yourselves. My Cake smash photography Belfast sessions include everything you need, so seriously.. just yourselves. There are some things that you can bring along that can be helpful for the day, this will be popped in your preparation guide also.
* Clothes. Even though I have an array of adorable little baby outfits you can choose from, you absolutely can bring your own outfit. The beauty of the way the cake smash photoshoot work is you could have them in two outfits for the photoshoot. Most often parents will bring their own outfit for baby to match the family portraits best at the beginning. Then choose one of my outfits to match the birthday theme which works super well.
* Extra clothes for you. Sometimes things get a little messy on parents whether it’s cake or from the splash in the tub time ha. If you are planning on going somewhere after the cake smash photoshoot, definitely bring a change of clothes just incase.
* Snacks and Favourite toys. Bringing familiar foods and toys will aid them in feeling more comfortable in the surrounding and more adventurous to really get stuck into the cake. There are sometimes little ones do not want to eat the cake or get stuck in and that’s completely normal. So the help of their favourite puffs works wonders! Be sure to bring juice/water too as they will want to have a drink during this fun celebration. It’s thirsty work modelling!
What happens after the Cake Smash Photography Belfast session?
Your cake smash photos will be ready to view around 2 to 3 weeks after the session in the photo-studio viewing room. At the end of your session we will schedule a date and time in the diary that suits best to come back to the studio for your ultimate viewing experience. Here you will view your professionally edited gallery of around 25 images on the big screen – the best cinema ever! You will then choose which way you’d like to display your favourites, whether that is on the USB, album or a beautiful wall art piece.. the choice is yours. Cake smash packages to include your favourite images on a USB stick start at £399 and move up from there depending on your favourites and what you wish to have. The Session fee is separate to any orders placed at the viewing appointment.
